medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
For the record, here is a very good work on *reportationes*: the two-volume book by
Nicole Bériou, *L'avènement des maîtres de la Parole: la prédication à
Paris au XIIIe siècle*, Paris: Institut des Etudes Augustiniennes, 1998.

Regarding Bernie, I do not know his work particularly well, but I am
doubtful about his sermons being known only thanks to notes taken by
secretaries. I wonder if there's not a confusion there with Thomas d'Aquin,
for whom the phenomenon of texts known thanks to notes taken by secretaries
is well-known (cf. Reginald de Piperno)?
