Grade 8: £37,012 - £44166 per annum with the potential to progress to £49,689. 
 
The Department of Journalism Studies is widely recognised as one of the leading departments of its kind in the UK. The most recent Research Assessment Exercise rated 75% of the department´s research outputs as “world leading” or “internationally excellent” and for the past four years the Department has topped the National Student Survey, with a current satisfaction rate of 97 per cent.

You will therefore have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and ideally a commitment to developing your individual research profile through scholarly activity which will include high-quality research publications and the pursuit of funding opportunities.
 
Applicants for the post will have, or be close to completing, a PhD (or equivalent), experience as a professional magazine journalist, experience of university teaching, and a strong or developing research profile
 
This post is available from no later than September 2012.  Appointment may be subject to an initial probationary period, dependent upon experience.
