I have read the decreasing user stats thread with interest and have another usage stats query that I wonder if anyone could throw any light on.
I have recently collected the usage stats for our library for the last 6 months and we have found that for the last year for some, but not all of our online resources, session numbers have increased dramatically - for example from 3155 sessions at the beginning of 2011 to 12592 session in the last 6 months. Also the sessions stats from from Emerald, Taylor and Francis and Ingenta Connect have gone from session numbers in the hundreds to the thousands.
I have checked with our IT department, but they could offer no explanation for the increase in numbers.
Has anyone else either encountered this, or could anyone offer any explanation for this large increase.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Claire
