Career Development Group Conference 2012
Together we are stronger
#cdg2012

Wednesday 18th July 2012

Austin Court, Birmingham

Although the library and information sector continues to experience budget cuts, redundancies and de-professionalisation, we continue to recognise the wealth of innovative thinking and action, experience, knowledge and expertise within the profession.

For 2012 the Career Development Group Conference – Together we are stronger - aims to bring together innovative information professionals, whether they are new to the profession or have been in the profession for a number of years.

This conference is organised as a forum for all information professionals by the Career Development Group, a special interest group of CILIP: The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.

This is a call for papers to new professionals (those in the profession for 5 years or less) and established, experienced professionals to participate.

The main theme of the conference is ‘learning from each other and working together to develop a stronger and more effective information profession’ and we invite submissions for presentations of 20 minutes and workshops of 45 minutes covering aspects of this theme, such as:

There will be various prizes awarded to speakers, as voted for by delegates on the day.  A selection of papers will be published in Impact, the group’s journal.
