Hi - yes for tbss_2_reg it will run all subjects at the same time if your cluster is large enough.

Thanks satra for your response. I read that FSL does it almost-automatically if you are using a Sun Grid Engine cluster. I found out that the cluster I am using has SGE system.

TBSS will run all registrations in parallel, but my question is, what is the max number of nodes for tbss_2_reg step? (how much can this step be parallelized?) Is it dependent on the number of subjects?

Thanks in advance,
Alba

if you are handy with python, the nipype package allows you to do exactly what you are looking for.

see:

http://www.mit.edu/~satra/nipype-nightly/users/examples/dmri_tbss_nki.html

to run on the cluster, you would simply need to use the appropriate plugin:

(the links on the right will guide you to appropriate mailing lists if you need help with nipype)

cheers,

satra

Dear all,

I am able to use a huge cluster for my fsl statistics. In order to minimize the computation time, is it possible to parallelize tbss in different nodes of a cluster? How could I do it?
