Hello,

I'm also on 10.6.8 but with a Core 2 Duo but I'm not sure what difference 
that would make.

I was using Tk mode, as it happens, but when I switched to OpenGL mode it 
still worked ok.  So it will be interesting to see what happens for you if 
you switch to Tk mode.
