Dear colleagues The BAFTSS mission statement prioritizes “the recognition of the discipline and represent the academic and professorial interests of those engaged in it to the academy, government, funding agencies, the cultural industries and the public.” BAFTSS is pleased to report that following a representation from BAFTSS officers requesting recognition as a body that represents an academic discipline, Graeme Rosenberg, REF Manager for HEFCE, has added BAFTSS to the list of nominating bodies for the current and future REF exercises. Of course, this is just a first step. But it is very encouraging. Hopefully, more good news along these lines will follow.
