Greek archaeological heritage is in danger. Greek archaeological services
are being destroyed by austerity cuts. These cuts are being imposed by an
unelected government at the behest of the ‘Troika’ – the IMF, the EU, and
the ECB – in the interests of the international banks.

Greek archaeologists Despina Koutsoumba and Fotios Georgiadis will outline
the crisis. Tansy Hoskins will introduce the Greek solidarity film made
earlier this year by the Coalition of Resistance. The meeting will then be
open for full discussion of the crisis, the implications, and alternatives.

This meeting has been called by archaeologists active in the Coalition of
Resistance (www.coalitionofresistance.org) and the Greece Solidarity
Campaign (website under construction) in response to the International
Appeal of the Association of Greek Archaeologists (www.sea.org.gr and see
attached).
