Anyone interested in feasting (in fact anyone interested in zooarchaeology) should read Nerissa Russell's "Social Zooarchaeology" (Cambridge 2011). Full of useful examples, plus some thought-provoking ideas about the many different behaviours that produce bone assemblages.
