Dear all

A number on the RadStats list may already have seen this. Others who work in an individual capacity on “engagement” with statistics, or with issues around scientific methods more generally, may wish to respond to this survey.

It also raises the question as to whether RS as an organisation should perhaps foreground our concern with engagement with statistics rather more.

Regards,

jeff

Subject: [PSCI-COM] Wellcome Trust Science Learning Survey - Final Reminder

FINAL REMINDER - SURVEY CLOSES SOON.

Dear All,

This is a polite final reminder that the Wellcome Trust Science Learning survey closes soon (full information below). Due to high interest in the survey we have extended the submission date to 23 March, 5pm. If you would like to contribute please do so by then.

The survey: www.informalsciencelearningsurvey.com

Thanks, Ross Neilson. Science Learning Study Project Manager.

ABOUT THE STUDY

The Wellcome Trust has commissioned a consortium comprising GHK Consulting Ltd, and Stanford and Oregon State Universities, to undertake a study to explore how the learning of science is supported outside of schools or outside of formal education in the UK.

A key feature of our study is an online survey aimed at individuals and organisations who provide services which seek to ra ise interest in, and engagement with, science, technology and engineering. The purpose of the survey is to collect information on science learning in the UK from a wide range of providers, to characterise the sector, the services it delivers and the audiences it serves, and the outcomes it delivers.

The survey is anonymous and should take approximately twenty minutes to complete.  If you can help us by taking part in the survey please click on the link below.

Survey link: www.informalsciencelearningsurvey.com

Please only complete this survey if you or your organisation provides services which seek to raise interest in, and engagement with, science, technology and engineering. Due to high interest the survey will remain open until 23 March 2012, 5p m - this is the final deadline for contributing to the survey.

Your contributions are very valuable as they will provide important information on the nature and characteristics of the science learning sector, the valuable contribution it makes and types of change it can bring about in people's understanding of science and their behaviour and attitudes to it.
