Dear All,

I just wanted to remind you about the upcoming deadline for applications to this post at the Royal Institution. If you have any questions about the role, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Clothworkers’ Associate in Mathematics

Salary: circa £30k-£33k per annum
Vacancy Type: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week)

As a member of the Ri Maths team, the Clothworkers’ Associate in Mathematics will work with the Clothworkers’ Fellow in running the Ri’s mathematics programme, with particular responsibility for secondary masterclasses. This will involve supporting secondary UK masterclass groups, and assisting with mathematics events for the Ri’s Science for Schools and Public programmes.

The successful candidate should have enthusiasm for enriching the mathematical experience of young people and be able to attract and maintain the goodwill of volunteers and partner organisations that form the mainstay of the Ri’s mathematics programme. Alongside experience of teaching skills, ideally at secondary level, the ideal candidate should have demonstrable skills in organisation and time management and have the ability to work on their own initiative and also to work as part of a team. As the position will include coordinating masterclasses  that take place on Saturdays around the UK, the ideal candidate will need to be comfortable with both Saturday working and travel. Time off in lieu will be given for Saturday working.

Further details can be found on our website (www.rigb.org/jobs). To apply, please email a letter of application and CV to [log in to unmask] by 3pm on Tuesday 27 March 2012. Interviews will be scheduled for the week commencing 23 April 2012.
