Dawn, Nottinghamshire County Council has a policy whereby all employees are offered posts subject to medical clearance (preferred candidates only as per EA2010). We screen all forms and see anyone as needed. However with very rare exceptions (eg LGV driver with epilepsy on medication where there is an absolute ban from DVLA), our advice is fit or fit with adjustments and leave the decision to employ or not to the managers.
