Apologies for cross-posting

Two briefings from the Race Equality Foundation’s Better Health (www.better-health.org.uk) and Better Housing (www.better-housing.org.uk ) collections have been updated for 2012.  I hope the following is of interest to the group.

Update: Better Health Briefing 9: The health and social care experiences of black and minority ethnic older people
Jo Moriaty, March 2012

http://www.better-health.org.uk/briefings/health-and-social-care-experiences-black-and-minority-ethnic-older-people

This update looks at changes in policy and outcomes for older black and minority ethnic people since the publication of Better Health briefing 9 in 2008. It considers the on-going relative scarcity of resources on this subject, but also relevant documents such as the dementia and diabetes strategies .

Update: Better Housing 6: Meeting the sheltered and extra care housing needs of black and minority ethnic older people
Adrian Jones, March 2012
http://www.better-housing.org.uk/briefings/meeting-sheltered-and-extra-care-housing-needs-black-and-minority-ethnic-older-people
This update reviews the findings of Better Housing briefing 6, outlining a number of housing developments which have sought to fulfil the sheltered and extra care housing needs of black and minority ethnic older people. It looks at both ethnically targeted developments and general developments which also seek to cater for these groups.
