On 8 August 2010 I sent a post to this list entitled "Posts from Gerry McKieran" in which I said (see https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=lis-link;8ca37ce3.1008) : Gerry McKieran is renowned for bulk posts to a great many library- related lists around the world. He also fails to engage with discussions on lists. He was recently banned from the LIS-E-BOOKS list after complaints and a failure to respond: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=LIS-E-BOOKS;4f282a5.1007 ... Can he pleased be removed from this link. I see he is now back on this list, and has posted 20 posts to date in March 2012 to this list and 23 to the LIS-E-RESOURCES list. I remember receiving several posts off-list last time (and on a couple of other occasions) from people who wished to see him banned from the lists for inappropriate behaviour. However such comments tend not to be made on the list itself, making it difficult for list-owners to gauge opinions. In order to solicit views I have created a Polldaddy survey which asks two questions: What are your views on the frequent messages posted and What are your views on actions the list owner should take. The options do allow people to say that they find the messages useful and no action is required. If people on this list would like to complete the survey it is available at http://16730.polldaddy.com/s/slash-gerry I will provide a summary of the responses in a few days.
