Hi Alexandra, I reckon the easiest way to share information is to ask your mentor to sign up to Mahara.me and I think a communal wiki for all things chartership related is a great idea. I would def contribute and if useful reviews and comments on these reviews were posted up, I would particularly be interested in this as at the moment, I just make notes on a word document following any article of interest that I've read and do think a more structured approach would be to my benefit! Please initiate the move and I will post up some links to articles I read over the next month! My question is: sharing info on the portfolio can apparently only be done with either people who have an account with Mahara, or apparently the whole public world? Since the latter is not an option I would like to consider, would the only other possibility be to ask my mentor to sign up to Mahara? Is there a better/different way of doing this? The other point I’m interested to hear your views about is that, as I was reading Jennifer Findlay’s article on “wiki-ing for chartership<http://www.cilip.org.uk/get-involved/special-interest-groups/careerdevelopment/cdg-benefits/pages/wiki-ingforchartershipjfindlay.aspx>”, it occurred to me that it could be really useful to have a kind of “nation-wide” wiki for chartership candidates, which could be a central place from where lots of relevant links could be accessed. I see that I am already starting to have links and resources in a few various places, and guess that all of us do that (whether it’s from your own portfolio, your favourites bar, delicious or diigo, pieces of paper etc.) in addition to links found on CILIP website etc. etc. but wouldn’t it make more sense if there was a more structured and shared space that would act as a central resource and certainly a useful starting point for chartership candidates? A wiki that would link to specific resources related to the chartership, relevant blogs, mailing lists, as well as a place to post testimonies if anybody wanted to, info about past or future events, info about mentorship, bibliographies and reviews, professional networks and so one, so I am thinking really of a wiki that would be potentially relevant for all candidates, not the personal wiki that I know some candidates have used as part of their own portfolio building. So I wonder, is there such a wiki out there (but I have neither found one, nor heard of any)? And mostly, is this something that you would be interested in? What are your views, would you use such a tool, would you contribute to it? I would certainly be happy to initiate the move if I felt there was some interest and response, so please let me know what you think!
