Elaine,

We also had an issue with the import of ERN but it turned out it was a Tribal issue.  It has now been resolved and we are able to import ERNs without any issue.

Thanks

Ditto Stephen’s response for here. We have one occurrence per year for registrations, and one per year for certification claims. Dated entries have to have the month specified so these are one per month. There’s no EBS functionality for named on demand.

Results importing is not good for us as we have historically set up the qual codes as 4-2-3 (e.g. 3748-01-010) yet the results come in without the middle 2 (complex) nos. so incompatible. I think there were other issues too but can’t recall – just know that it really wasn’t worth us changing our EBS data for.

ENR importing is not good for us anymore either which is problematic – we’ve been investigating the issue on and off for about a year now with no joy from our MIS team or from CG L

I've never had a lot of luck importing city & guilds basedata into EBS, and last time I checked the current schema in the new client was not in the right format. However, they may have fixed it. Regarding board occurrences we tend to use just one occurrence (1112/00) for all registrations, and only use monthly ones for "dated entries" (ie component entries in a particular month).

Hope this helps.

Stephen

Any ideas? I have no idea what we do as I don’t administer any of the C&G exams.

Subject: EBS and exams basedata import

Hi, we’re about to implement  the EBS exams module, and have been advised by a couple of other colleges that we should create multiple board occurrences for each exam board. So for example for City & Guilds we would set up 1 board occurrence for Jan Registrations and another for Jan Results, then the same for Feb, Mar etc. Giving us 24 board occurrences for that exam board. Apparently this makes it easier to manage our data and edi uploads.

The problem is that when we try and import the basedata into EBS we have to select a board occurrence to link the basedata with. Does this mean that we have to do 24 basedata imports? It’s going to mean having lot of data clogging up our database! It looks like we’re going to have to manually enter our exams data, which seems like a laborious process. Is there any way of getting round this?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide on this.
