"One size does not fit all": Assessing Deaf Students' Needs in HE
Many of you working in HE will be aware of examples of Study Needs Assessment reports (for Disabled Students Allowance or other funders) which do not meet the needs of the student or the institution. And many assessors struggle to get the specialist training and peer support we need to help us assess and advise deaf students, especially those students with little experience of the HE environment.
When CHESS (the Consortium of Higher Education Support Services with Deaf Students) raised the possibility of holding an event to address these issues, we got an enthusiastic response from across the sector.
Programme and booking form are now available - copied below, as we can’t send attachments to this list. Any problems accessing these, or for the smarter versions - then please e-mail Emma Clarke ([log in to unmask]).
Please note that there is location information on the booking form – you might want to keep a copy of this!
Best wishes,
Sheenagh
