I thought it might interest colleagues to know that the changes to the local authority RIPA surveillance regime
as set out in the Protection of Freedoms Bill are likely to come into force in October.

This is according to a contact at the Local Government Association.

The changes are explained in an article on our website:

http://www.actnow.org.uk/content/47

Local authority colleagues may wish to pass this on to colleagues in trading standards, environmental health, audit and legal services.
