That's really interesting. It's definitely an interesting transitional time for newsletters and update services because they are still hugely valued but often out of date when published. I think that's probably likely to tilt things towards commentary and reflection - as it has in newspapers - but really interesting to see how these things develop.

Your comment also brought another possibly too obvious tip to mind: 

If you are writing up or blogging an event and you include the event tag/hashtag in your post (most blogging systems let you add any number of tags of your choice) then it can be a really good way to raise the profile of your write up and of your blog or website. Event organisers tend to Google around to find mentions and the hashtag is the easiest way to do this so tagging your post or report on an event will help it be seen and linked to.
