We recently purchased
a capsule from Preservation Equipment Ltd. They are expensive but it
seemed very robust. However, it was a cylinder – which meant that
it was very hard to fit things in and things were forced into shape a little!
Particularly because everything was in polyester pockets. It was quite
interesting trying to think what to put it – there are very few things
where the technology wont be redundant in the future (probably about 5 years
time!) or you have much hope of the object surviving e.g. newspapers and
magazines.
Kind regards

I found these links through
‘google’, from American heritage organisations, but probably still
relevant regarding materials for the capsule itself.

Tees Archaeology are
looking to do a time capsule with the local history group for the Diamond
Jubilee. They were asking for advice about the type of container they could use
and I haven’t a clue and wondered if anyone had any ideas?
