Dear colleagues,

Please find enclosed the Call for Proposals for a special session of
the Regional Studies Association European Conference 2012 on :
"Financialisation and the built environment: what does it mean for
city-regions?"

The main objectives of the session are:
1) To link financialization processes to the production of the
city-regional built environment;
2) To analyze the economic geographies of finance capital flows in the
sectors related to the built environment, with regard to different
types of urban and regional physical assets: property, infrastructure,
large-scale urban projects, etc.;
3) To explore the impacts of finance capital on the making and working
of city-regions in terms of economic, social, environmental, political
and planning dimensions; and
4) To assess the virtues and limits of the different theoretical
