Dear Colleagues,

You may be interested in the below message regarding the development of the Archives Accreditation project.

Today the Archives Accreditation dialogue opened its latest bumper crop of discussions on the accreditation standard, covering issues such as audience development, access statements, customer care, preservation and conservation and management arrangements. If you have an interest in any of these areas please log on to http://www.dialogue-app.com/archivesaccreditation/ to participate in the discussion.

Discussions on collections development policies, acceptable constitutions and assessing user's needs are closing this wednesday. If you want your say then participate soon. To date (week 2) we have had 90 comments on the discussion and 39 of these have been rated by others.

We are following up the first webinar which was attended by 27 people from across the sector with a shorter, more interactive webchat on 27th February, 9.30-10.30. This web chat will look at the eligibility criteria for participating in the archives accreditation scheme, covering issues such as:

- Size of repository

- Definition of an archive service

- The audience for your archive service

- The level of involvement in an archive service of professional staff

Numbers that can participate in this webchat are strictly limited, so to receive an invitation to participate please contact [log in to unmask].
