Hello everyone,

March's Science Showoff is next week, and here's why you should all come
along:

Fresh from his stand-up comedy debut at Bright Club: Bodies in Brighton,
primatologist Lewis Dean will be giving us an insight into the remarkable
intelligence of animals. And if you ask nicely, he'll tell you how to get a
first author paper in Science as a PhD student (keep your eyes and ears
peeled for news coverage of the paper this Friday!).

Caspar Addyman will take a scientific approach to alcohol with the
Boozerlyzer app, neuroscientist Sophie Scott will illustrate how humans
speak with a balloon (full of hot air?) and Jay Stone is going to share her
top-tips for disguising your outer geek in order to fool the masses.

And at the end of the night I'm going to perform a tap dance on stage.

All in the name of communicating science! As usual we're at the Wilmington
Arms, 69 Rosebery Avenue, Clerkenwell, EC1R 4RL (map http://bit.ly/yZcfoq).
Doors open at 7pm on Tuesday 6th March. Our compere is Steve Cross. Full
line-up is here: http://t.co/4Pof94Zr.

This month we’ll be collecting for the Copenhagen Youth Project (
http://www.cyproject.org/) who work with young people in North London and
especially around Copenhagen Road. Please donate generously - a fiver each
from each of you would be perfect.

Hope to see you next week. I'll be the one in the fishnet tights.
Louise

p.s. We're coming to Cambridge Science Festival on 23rd March, if you'd
like to perform, you can sign-up here: http://t.co/qPOwzipS.
