Dear List, Does anyone know the locations/later identities of the following mines: Wheal Adam; Wheal Smith; Wheal Tool? They are mentioned in Tavistock Canal Company accounts of the period c.1803-1828. All are named in company with other mines whose locations are known, but extensive trawling of the Bedford Papers in the Devon Record Office has failed to identify them. All were in Tavistock Parish (West Devon). Has anyone any ideas? Robert Waterhouse
