Folks, I have no idea how to phrase this question in an un-inane fashion so here goes. In EX 28, when the stones for the High Priest's breastplate are being designated, and assuming that then as now Hebrew was read right to left, would the stones have been placed in order from right to left or vice versa? Or is this one of life's great mysteries? Any references to articles on the breastplate and the significance, mystical or otherwise, of the stones are welcome. (Of course, the significance of "beryl" would be hard to pin down... sort of like asking the significance of wood.) Thanks in advance.MG
