The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Southampton is pleased to offer postgraduate scholarships, bursaries and studentships in Film Studies and other subject areas funded by: the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) through their Block Grant Partnership (BGP) scheme; the University of Southampton; the Faculty of Humanities; and our partners.
 
Applications submitted before the deadline will be considered for MA and doctoral study commencing in October 2012. Some of the opportunities are equivalent to full fees and established provision for maintenance / living expenses, but there are also smaller bursaries.

Film Studies at Southampton is an established and vibrant discipline with a dynamic postgraduate community. Our MA programmes and MPhil/PhD programmes span cinema from its beginnings to the present day, and intersect with fields as diverse as history, gender studies, television and cultural studies.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
