    Equity for Children E-Newsletter   |   Number 23

February  |  Year 2012

Dear friends,

This month at www.equityforchildren.org , join us on our website as we highlight:

• We were delighted that researchers from The Young Lives Project at University of Oxford came to New York on February 8th and proud that Equity for Children hosted their first presentation of their research findings in the United States (pictures on right). Together with CUNY and Rutgers University, The New School held a two-day presentation of The Young Lives Project findings, where we were pleased with a great turnout and heated discussion between the presenters and the participant guests.

Equity for Children at The New School and the Department of Childhood Studies at Rutgers University launches its academic partnership. The two bodies seek cooperation in academic research and student exchange to improve the initiatives to raise awareness on child rights and promote equality for children.

• On March 7th, 2012, Equity for Children is hosting a discussion panel on ‘Children in the Urban World’, following the launch of UNICEF’s initiative The State of the World’s Children 2012 examines the situation of children in urban areas today. This discussion panel will build on the report’s critical themes through thought-provoking presentations by analysts and practitioners on the uneven urban advances and children living in poverty or enduring marginalization in urban settings confront daily challenges and deprivations.

I hope that you continue to find http://www.equityforchildren.org a vital and interesting contribution to your work. Drop us a line to let us know what you think.

Sincerely,

Alberto Minujin, Director
