Dear all,

I participated in a session at AAM in Philadelphia 3 years ago where we tried to understand where the web and new media should fit in a museum org chart and what profile should work on these projects.

Micheal Edson was chairing this session, brilliantly as usual, slides here : http://www.slideshare.net/edsonm/new-media-technology-and-museums <http://www.slideshare.net/edsonm/new-media-technology-and-museums>

And notes there : http://www.slideshare.net/edsonm/aam2009-session-intro-and-notes-who-is-in-charge-v2 <http://www.slideshare.net/edsonm/aam2009-session-intro-and-notes-who-is-in-charge-v2>

Cynthia Graville presented her work at the youth center and the "you might not always be supported" point of view. http://www.slideshare.net/cstorygraville/aam2009 <http://www.slideshare.net/cstorygraville/aam2009>

Jeff Tancil, illustrated his work at the Tenement Museum and how he became in charge because he was the IT guy (with magic power over web and printers). http://www.slideshare.net/jtancil/new-media-technology-and-museums-whos-in-charge-jeff-tancil-final

I advocated for educators as project managers because I thought Education and Technology look good side by side and my slides are available at http://www.slideshare.net/aurelihenry/new-media-technology-and-museums-whos-in-charge-aurelie-henry <http://www.slideshare.net/aurelihenry/new-media-technology-and-museums-whos-in-charge-aurelie-henry>

We obviously all agreed at the end that we can only do it together, that cross departmental team work the best when you can seat everyone at the same table and jump over the traditional fences.

I hope this is helpful,

Have a great day,

Aurélie
