Hi guys,
I thought I'd add some background from some of the development work we are doing.
One of the things on our roadmap for 2012 is a faster report runner. This allows us to do several things over and above the current report runner:
1. It is much higher performance than the current report runner
2. As a result of 1, we can create more complex reports with more columns and data
3. It will also support counts and crucially aggregate counts into the reports - the latter will allow us to sum up things by department, e.g. number of lists per department etc.
4. The new runner will have value, date and free text filters
5. Finally, when you export the data out by CSV all the data will be exported, rather than just the current page
This work is currently on the product stack under item XIP-2219 - it's queued behind a few other items at the moment but I expect us to start on it during March. Track the progress of this issue via the in progress board:
Finally, specifically on the item report that Mehves mentions below, it is a known issue that this screen does not work well for customers with larger datasets:
The good news is that we can replace the functionality with a new report (with filters) on the new report runner when it is finished. When that is ready we will retire the old screen.
Thanks,
Chris

Hello,
All items report can also be obtained from Acquisitions - Item report. In there, one can enter a date range for items added to lists. Results can also be limited by importance and/or resource type.
I was wondering to what extent other libraries are using the Reports function in Aspire to obtain statistics on reading lists. Although there is a fairly comprehensive list of reports covering a range of things, I am struggling to get the figures I need to management reporting because the report shows all the lists or all the items etc ever put on Aspire and I can't find a way to filter this to lists for a particular time period (term or academic year).
Have others found a way to do this or are you interested in developing the Reports to filter by time period or importance to enable more meaningful reporting? I have raised this as an Idea but currently only has 3 votes...
