Subject: Re: Reading List management: summary of replies

Many thanks to all who replied to my question. Here is a summary

3 sites using Aspire
2 sites using Talis List but hope to go with Aspire
1 site using only Course reserves but would like to go to Aspire
I site using Blackboard
I site uses Access for in-house management
6 sites are using a Marc field. Some like us just add the module code and that is it. A couple have added more information e.g. tutors name etc. One site uses the Marc field but has a reading list tab in BB. One site is hoping to go to Aspire.

Our Director really wants us to try and adapt Millennium so that we can add Core and General etc so that users can bring up the reading list and then limit to core text but cannot see how that is possible....

Subject: Reading List management

I know this been asked before so bear with me. I am trying to find out what Millennium sites are doing to manage their reading lists
I know what Liverpool, Leeds and Keele are doing but not so sure about the rest of you!

If you have time today (I am seeing senior staff tomorrow) could you let me know in one sentence

Are you just using Millennium as we do (using a marc field?)
Have you "adapted" Millennium to manage your reading lists

Are you using Aspire?
Another reading list package?

Are you linking your VLE with Millennium?
Are you using course reserves?

Anything else??

Many thanks for your time and I will summarise at end of the week if enough replies and interest

Regards

Maureen
