JISC is piloting the JISC Elevator: http://elevator.jisc.ac.uk

The JISC Elevator is for crowd sourcing innovative ideas: 'a new way to find and fund innovative ways to use technology to improve universities and colleges. Anyone employed in UK higher or further education can submit an idea. If your idea proves popular then JISC will consider it for funding. The elevator is for small, practical projects with up to £10,000 available for successful ideas. So if you have a brainwave, why not pitch it on the elevator?'

For this pilot, JISC has made £30,000 available to fund three or more projects of up to £10,000 each.

It's simple, write a description of your idea and make a video to 'pitch' it; upload this information to the JISC Elevator site; promote it to gather votes.

The site will be open for ideas until the end of March. Any ideas that receive the target number of votes by the end of March will be considered for funding by JISC.

Successful projects will be notified in April and will be expected to complete by the end of July 2012.
