Dear Sarah,
AIP has been ongoing since the mid-1990s. The project aims to extract data and provide summaries of all fieldwork (and desk-based) reports for a given year, and originally relied on researchers
visiting the main contracting units as well as HERs and physically trawling through the paper reports. I did supply our reports on a CD last year, on the understanding that this will be used only for extraction of the required information.
Best wishes,
Lesley

Subject: Bournemouth Archaeological Investigations Project - query / advice
Hi All
Can anyone give me any advice regarding a request we recently received from Bournemouth Archaeological Investigations Project.
Bournemouth Archaeological Investigations Project has requested digital copies of all our 2010 archaeological reports. After querying this with my colleague we thought the email a little strange as the writer
presumed we had recent advance knowledge of this project (which we hadn’t), although admittedly they noted they were running behind schedule. I found the website detailing the project
http://csweb.bournemouth.ac.uk/aip/aipintro.htm (the project was commissioned by EH). The 2009 data listed in the gazetteer contained summary of reports from our area, but in no way did the grey
literature listed there add up to all the reports Peterborough received for 2009. Also the person who would have dealt with this at P’boro HER has since left. Hence our question – have you had any request for information (in the past or recently) and what
% of reports did you provide (the majority of our reports are hard copy and they have requested digital copies). It would be helpful to know how other HER’s have approached this. Thank you
Best wishes
Sarah
