Actually, a similar request had been posted by Alan Glazner a couple of years ago, and we already had a start on this type of compilation. This new information has been posted on our website on Teaching Petrology with the Primary Scientific Literature: http://serc.carleton.edu/NAGTWorkshops/petrology/literature.html In addition to the recommended readings (which are posted, or you can download as a Word file from this page), we also have a variety of teaching strategies that you might want to try out in your classes. My graduate student, Jesse Chadwick, put this compilation together for us and tracked down the incomplete references. So, a special thanks to Jesse.
