If its unstructured and manual data then no. (Information which is not
"structured by reference to individuals or criteria relating to
individuals": Files which are not about the data subject, or are not
about subjects which indicate that information about them is held in the
file. ) Unless they describe the information in a way which allows us to
find it.

You are not obliged to provide access to unstructured manual data if the
cost of locating and extracting the information would exceed the
"appropriate limit" set by the Freedom of Information Act for Freedom of
Information Act requests

Happy to be corrected.

Subject: [data-protection] Expectations on how far we search for
information

We have a request for access to records from someone dating back to the
1950s. A search has concluded that there is no record of the requester,
but in their request they have provided names and dates of birth of
half-siblings who we do have a record of.

Are we expected to go through the files of the half-siblings to see if
there is anything about the requester?
