We intentionally don't do much customisation because I've been caught out in the past by having to try and figure out all the CSS changes every time there is a patch or upgrade.

However you might like our approach to the login page - there's a slideshow of screenshots on this blogpost:

Subject: As anybody extensively modified the appearance of Blackboard?

Hello all,

The institution for whom I work specialises in visual arts and design and consequently the look and feel of the VLE is a significant determinant in student and staff engagement. Although we have gone to (what we believe to be) considerable lengths to modify the appearance of our Blackboard environment, the university's new Academic Management is requesting further modification to bring the VLE in line with a newly-designed institutional website.

Therefore my question is this: has anyone extensively modified the appearance of their Blackboard environment, and if so would you be prepared to share images to show what is possible? The following link displays a screenshot of our current Home page:

We are currently running 9.0.447 and upgrading to 9.1 over the summer.

Many thanks,

Tony Reeves, Academic Developer (Learning Technology), University for the Creative Arts
