I would like to bring to your attention the following vacancy at West Yorkshire Archive Service, Wakefield

Archivist (Wakefield)
Post Ref: WYJS:072
Salary Scale: £22,221 - £23,708
37 hours per week

WYAS are looking for a qualified archivist to strengthen the Wakefield team and assist with the care, preservation and access to collections as well as the provision of public services.

The postholder will undertake the full range of professional archive duties which will include the supervision of a busy searchroom, answering enquiries, dealing with depositors, surveying, sorting and listing archive material, participating in outreach activities and helping to coordinate a team of Archive Assistants.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in an archive environment along with good communication and IT skills. Familiarity with ISAD (G) and the CALM cataloguing system would be an advantage. They will be educated to degree level and hold the Diploma in Archive Administration. A current driving licence or the ability to travel around WYAS service points and other locations in West Yorkshire will be essential.

Some weekend and evening work will be required
