Britain’s national company for contemporary dance requires:

CATALOGUING ARCHIVIST (1 year fixed term, F/T)

DIGITISATION ARCHIVIST (6 months fixed term, F/T or 12 months P/T)

Rambert Dance Company owns one of the most complete dance archives in the UK, dating back to the foundation of the Company in 1926.  Rambert Moves: Unlocking the Passion is a transformational project to catalogue, conserve and increase access to the Archive in preparation for our move to new headquarters on London’s South Bank in 2013.

We are seeking two qualified archivists to catalogue the Rambert Dance Company Archive and, if there is time, the additional deposited small collections (one post)  and to catalogue and digitise the AV collection (one post).

These are amongst number of project roles we will be recruiting over the next few months: Digitisation Volunteers, Costume Conservator, and Archive Learning Manager.

For a detailed job description and application pack, please visit rambert.org.uk or send an A4 SAE for 58p (second-class) to Celeste Holder, Rambert Dance Company, 94 Chiswick High Road, London W4 1SH

Closing date for completed applications: Monday 12 March, 12pm

Interviews will be held on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 March.

Subject: images for TIG website

Calling all TIG members!

You may know that the Executive Committee has applied to ACE for funding to redevelop the TIG website. ACE has a small pot of money for Subject Specialist Networks, and we hope to hear in the next couple of weeks if we have been successful. In the meantime, the committee has been discussing the content and look of the new site and one thing is clear: it will need many photographs. One idea is to have the image on the home page refresh every time you go onto the site, sort of an 'item of the day'. So we will need to good pool of images to draw from.

I would be very grateful if you would contribute an image or two or three. As a jpeg, with a blurb, the full name of the archive, and a copyright indication. To make the site look professional, images should be of a high quality, thanks.

Even if we do not get the ACE funding, the current website could do with a new batch of photos as those currently there have been up since the launch!  http://www.theatreinfo.specialistnetwork.org.uk/

Many thanks for your help.

best wishes,

Chris Jones

TIG Website Officer
