Dear Mohammed,

Our nephrologists regularly request CA125 in CAPD fluid in dialysis patients. Decline of CA125 values is indicative of a decline of the peritoneal function and might indicate a switch to hemodialysis. So this has nothing to do with oncology.

Kind regards,

Bart Ballieux

Subject: Fluid tumour markers

Dear All,

Do you offer tumour markers (CEA, CA125, AFP, hCG) on fluids such as ascitic, pleural, ovarian cyst fluid, of course as an off license use? Are they useful and how would you interpret them?

thanks

Mohammad
