Michael,

We do allergen-specific IgE using the Optigen system, which is a
Hitachi product. Measurement is via a dedicated luminometer and there
are three panels of 20 allergens which can be tested for, inhalants,
foods and "atopy" (which is a mixture of inhalant and food antigens).

The "40" panel to which you refer is probably the full inhalant panel
(20) plus the full food panel (20). Each panel is held in a large
slide with a series of cuvettes attached.
