Dear Anna and others,
at the Early Bronze Age necropolis in Mokrin (Banat, North-Eastern Serbia), in one female grave, the string with the first human rib as a pendant, was found. Our colleague, S. Stefanovic published a paper on the subject, here is the reference and link to the paper (although it is in Serbian, there is an English summary)
Dear Zooarch,
In 2010 at Gohar Tepe, Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age site in Iran, my colleague found what he thinks is a human bone tool. He'd like to know of any similar finds, either human or animal bone. What are the most likely uses of this tool? He's mostly interested in specimens from the Near East, but anything similar will be welcome.
