Definition of 'Overlay'

Dw i’n deall hynny, ond ddim yn gweld y gair ‘overlay’/tros-haenu’n air yn ffitio hynny! Mae ‘tros-haenu’ yn cyfleu gosod haenau dros ben rhywbeth – methu gweld hynny yn y diffiniad! Rhaid mod i’n dwp! Mae mwy fel cymryd ‘trosolwg’ o’r holl gyfrifon – a fyddai hynny’n well tybed?

Dwi’n cymryd o hynny mai ystyr “derivative overlays” yw “examples of the overlaying of derivatives”

For example, some active managers have underlying exposures that are not consistent with the Fund’s SAA. Ym maes buddsoddi a chronfeydd buddsoddi a chyfranddaliadau etc – ac yng nghyd-destun cronfeydd pensiwn – wedi defnyddio Investopedia’n helaeth ar Google ac wedi bod yn bathu termau fel ffwl ond dw i ddim yn deall y diffiniad am ‘overlay’ (dw i wedi bod yn defnyddio ‘deilliadau’ am ‘derivatives’ ac wedi meddwl am ‘gorchuddion deilliadol’ ond falle dylwn I fynd ar ôl yr elfen ‘tros-‘ (ond ‘dyw tros-haenau ddim yn taro deuddeg rywsut!) Help!!
