Dear all,

JISC will be holding a workshop on embedding usability in UKF/HE, to be held in Birmingham Wednesday 1st February. This workshop is part of the end of programme meeting for the JISC "Usability and Adaptability of User Interfaces" activity, taken forward by JISC's Digital Infrastructure team.

As part of this activity, eleven projects have been funded to explore the development of flexible user interface and embedding usability in the development of academic resources and tools:

At the workshop, we want to encourage a broader discussion on how usability could be embedded across the sector. With the ever increasing use of digital resources across all areas, embedding usability in development practice is crucial to protect the investment in valuable resources and to open them up to a wider group of users. Not only will more usable systems attract more usage, making them easier to sustain, they also have potential to increase the efficiency of staff and also student satisfaction.

Based on outputs of and lessons learned through the JISC Usability and Adaptability programme, the workshop will highlight easy and cost-effective means of increasing usability and explore how they could be made useful beyond the programme.

If you would like to attend the event then please contact Ben at [log in to unmask] for more details.

Please note places are very limited and will be distributed on a first come-first served basis. We look forward to seeing you in Birmingham.

Ben
