The restoration men - Community - lep.co.uk

It’s a treasure trove of information, spanning everything from family trees
to the oldest surviving Guild roll.

With more than eight miles of archives, Lancashire Record Office’s shelves
are home to countless priceless documents chronicling centuries of the
county’s history.

To help keep its irreplaceable items in top condition, the building on Bow
Lane, Preston, underwent a £1.1m revamp last year, with much of it spent on
new air conditioning to preserve fragile documents at the right temperature.
