Thank you for the additional info, none of which was available to me through the campaign site. I guess what worries me  is that there is such a lack of funding, faculty, and student interest in this particular program. I hope this isn't symptomatic of such U.S. programs in general. Do you think UW's program is faltering in part because of the other options nearby that you mentioned, which sound great? I worry that schools being forced to cut funding in general could turn to programs like nurse-midwifery if there isn't enough outspoken support for their continuance. As a relative outsider to the profession, it can be difficult to gauge the pulse of midwifery in the U.S. since it varies so much regionally/state-wise. I'd be interested in any other information you have about this topic if anyone wants to send me something personally. I am a non-nursing graduate looking to pursue a graduate entry (GE) nurse-midwifery program and I am sure there are many options, but when things like this happen it throws off my search. Thanks again...
Best,
Jessalyn

Jessalyn,
Having first hand knowledge of this situation:
1.  The program was down to 4 students
2.  Significant faculty have left
3. The dean at UW school of nursing has resigned
4. The funding has disappeared
5. Seattle University now has a midwifery program
6. Frontier Nursing University has the largest and longest running program in the country

Should the UW program be continued? There are other options.

Correction:Oops! It is the University of Washington, not Wisconsin. That's what I get for sending out information first thing in the morning before breakfast. Thanks for signing!
