mean, should the zodiac be orientated by the points of the compass ? ie
should we begin by painting ARIES (the start of the sequence) over the
window through which the sunrise shines ? (In midwinter ? in midsummer ?
at the solstis ?) and carry on clockwise from there. Or, do we
put ARIES over the door by which my guests will enter ? Or do we put LEO
over my dais to tell everyone what a powerful guy/gal I am ?
Could you do both?
It's quite clear from calendars of the months, etc (eg in the Berry Hours) that Aries was seen as a Spring sign-- it usually turns up for April I htink-- so it should certainly go over an eastward window if there is one. Putting Leo over the dais is a brilliant conceit; it rather depends on how high your opinion of yourself is, whether you feel like re-orienting the whole circle to put Leo over your dais, or like re-positioning your dais to put it under Leo in its proper (a bit west of southward) position.
