Can't help on the evaluation form but if you go to the College of Emergency Medicine web site and search on critical appraisal you get a link to CA papers from previous exams and these are a selection of RCTs and cohort studies with notes on their appraisal. We've used the one on tap water v saline for wound irrigation and it works well plus has the advantage that it's not too technical.

Please can you share with the list any other suggestions you get as we're trying to build up a bank of papers to stop us from getting too bored with doing the same one each time.

Subject: Pre-course skills evaluation for critical appraisal workshop

Dear list members

I am not sure if this exists, but does anyone have handy an evaluation form suitable for assessing critical appraisal skills knowledge / confidence prior to attending a CA workshop? It does feel like it might be "evaluation overkill", but at the same time it would be great to quantify any skills / confidence gained by the participants.

In passing, if anyone has a favourite RCT article and accompanying CA crib sheet they are willing to share, that would be rather wonderful! (I have searched previous threads and followed up on leads, but new material is always a bonus. )
