Subject: [lis-e-resources] FW: [lis-e-resources] EEBO vs JISC Historic Books collection (JISC e-Collections) - Thank you for the feedback

Hello,

Thank you to all of those institutions who have responded to my earlier email so far, that's much appreciated and your comments will be very useful in making a decision regarding whether to re-subscribe to EEBO or not. All of the institutions who have contacted me so far have either retained their individual EEBO subscription for the time being or are having to seriously consider re-subscribing following dissatisfaction with the JISC Historic Books alternative.

If any further institutions would like to comment please feel free to email me (off-list if preferred).

Thanks again.

Best wishes,

Helen

Subject: [lis-e-resources] EEBO vs JISC Historic Books collection (JISC
e-Collections)

Hi,

We recently cancelled our individual JISC Early English Books Online
(EEBO) subscription as this resource is now available via our JISC e-Collections subscription and we were not keen to pay for access to this content twice. However, we have since received concerns from some of our History Academics that EEBO content and functionality via JISC e-Collections is inferior. I would therefore be interested in hearing if any other sites have found differences between the two services which would justify such comments, or indeed whether you've taken the decision to maintain both subscriptions. We would like to be able to make an informed decision about whether it would be beneficial to re-subscribe to the individual EEBO agreement or whether it is a case of training staff and students on using the JISC Historic Books platform.

Thanks very much for any assistance that you can provide. Please feel free to contact me off list if preferred.

Best wishes,

Helen
