This position performs technical work related to designing, maintaining, and producing geographic data and graphics through an automated geographic information system (GIS). You will be working for a leading engineering organisation within the oil and gas sector and will be based in Farnborough, Hampshire. This will be a 12 month contract, £20 + p/h on a limited company basis.
ARCGIS 10 EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL AND IS CRITICAL TO JOIN THE PROJECTS
Key Accountabilities
Create, maintain, and produce GIS map products for internal and external use using ESRI ArcGIS 10 software platform.
Interface with Project staff and Client technical staff to exchange information of utility system maps, and provide mapping changes as requested. Interface with consultants for exchange of information related to Consultants scope of work (hydraulic modeling, base mapping ,etc)
Prepares mapping exhibits for use by project staff in preparing new project pricing or other project related work.
Assist project staff with creation, maintenance, and use of CMMS programs.
Prepares technical drawing and mapping work products such as construction details and concept level project drawings.
Skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple assignments
• Effective written and oral communication
• ESRI ArcGIS 10 software
Knowledge
• Experience working within an engineering industry.
• Use and operation of ESRI ArcGIS 10 software.
• Methods, techniques and procedures utilized in the planning, design, maintenance, and production of GIS data and graphics
• Use of MS Office Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint
• Use, operation and fundamental understanding of GPS technology
• Minimum of Two years experience designing, maintaining, and producing geographic data and graphics utilizing an ESRI GIS software.
