Zach Furness writes critically about vehicular cyclists in his book One Less Car, and also discusses various other aspects of cycling politics if you are looking at that side of things.

Subject: Typologies of cyclists?
To: <[log in to unmask]>

Dear Hans,

The following links may be interesting for you:

- In research on commuting in the Netherlands, Eva Heinen distinguished between, non-, part time, and full time cyclists: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1361920910001306

- In the USA there is a discussion about ‘vehicular cyclists’ and other cyclists. I don’t think this discussion exists in countries with high amounts of cycling. My ex-intern Robin Michler conducted research on this: https://cdr..lib.unc.edu/record;jsessionid=3A8ED03A895A86C7B1BFE6F431BB97F0?id=uuid%3Af2618950-326a-4e29-8161-9978d0c55af3

There are also several typologies of drivers that may be useful to reason by analogy, but most literature I know of is in Dutch.

Best regards, Paul

Onderwerp: Typologies of cyclists?

Dear List,

Can anyone guide me to studies that focus on Typologies/mobility Styles of cyclists? Or can you guide me to colleges or researchers that would be able to enlighten me?

Regards and thanks in advance
