The Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences is looking for excellent PhD
candidates for Aberystwyth University's new Doctoral Career Development
Scholarship competition (DCDS). The scholarships cover Home/EU post-graduate
tuition fees and a subsistence allowance of approximately £13,590 per year
(2011-12 rates).

Awards are designed to enable students to develop the necessary skills
required to meet their career choices and offer a breadth of development
opportunities to enhance their research, teaching and transferable skills.
Students within the scheme will make an agreed contribution to the
Department as a condition of the PhD scholarship.

Applications are sought in areas relating to the Institute's research groups
(Cultural and Historical Geography and New Political Geography) Applicants
are encouraged to contact potential supervisors before applying to discuss
potential research topics.
