The scholarships cover Home/EU post-graduate tuition fees and a subsistence allowance of approximately £13,590 per year (2011-12 rates). Awards are designed to enable students to develop the necessary skills required to meet their career choices and offer a breadth of development opportunities to enhance their research, teaching and transferable skills. Students within the scheme will make an agreed contribution to the Department as a condition of the PhD scholarship.
